Mask Cord Adjuster Beads
My masks are one size fits most, and I intentionally make the elastic longer than some people will need, since it's easier to shorten the elastic than it would be to replace or extend it.
You can use these silicone mask elastic adjusters to get a more snug fit for your mask! (These work well with flat elastic like the kind I use, as well as elastic cord and most types of ribbon.)
To use these cord adjuster beads, refer to the photo and follow these steps to get the cord adjusters onto your mask:
1. Thread a needle and pass it through the adjuster bead, smaller hole first
2. Loop the needle and thread around the mask's elastic cord
3. Pass the needle back through the adjuster bead, larger hole first
4. Gently pull the needle and tail end of the thread back through the adjuster bead - the thread is looped around the elastic, which will pull the elastic through as well
5. Adjust as needed, now or later!
If you do not have a needle and thread handy, a piece of stiff floss can also work! (Thatโs what I use when I'm putting these beads on for my little head!) I've also found using a small bobby pin can work great.
However, I do NOT recommend using any pointed objects to jam the elastic through, as this may tear your elastic.
